- As the city heats up, all of
us are concerned about the way our skin is going to react to the sun, with
problems like tanning and sun burn ruling the roost. However, we beat the heat
and give you tips that will help you not only this summer, but also in the long
run as well.
- Despite how long your day has
been or how tired you are, it's important to take your makeup off before
sleeping. Leaving it on will end up clogging or expanding your pores while
dehydrating your skin.
- Daily cleansing, exfoliating
and moisturising is still one of the best ways to achieve great skin, no matter
what your skin type is.
- Exfoliation improves the
appearance and surface function of the skin. The right exfoliation will help
receive hydration, resulting in a clearer, smoother, more translucent and
even-toned complexion.
- To get glowing and clear
skin, eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.
- Balance booze with six to
eight glasses of water a day. It's your body's ultimate detox, as it helps in
flushing out the toxins that build up in the body. You can alternate water with
herbal tea as well.
- Premature ageing is a result
of sun exposure. So, use sunscreen which has an SPF of 30 or higher daily.
Don't worry about getting enough vitamin D - we get plenty from just 15 minutes
in the sun, two or three times a week!
- Smoking enhances an enzyme in
the skin, resulting in increased collagen break down. The overall effect causes
wrinkling and inelasticity. So, cut down on the puffs daily.
- Pollution, stress, and
parties can wreck the skin. The best way to counteract is with plenty of sleep
(eight hours is healthy enough).
- Tempting as it is to rub your
eyes when you're tired, it is advisable that you don't. It will only end up
stretching your skin and cause sagging. Whilst it may take a while to show,
when the wrinkles hit, the effect will just seem to double.
